This is the floor of my studio, I was reviewing some of my photos and came across this one and decided to show you that I do "work on art". My floor is a work in progress as it is altered by paint splatters as I work on my paintings.

Wow, it has been almost a year since I posted ..... It's been a hard year but life is settling back into place and my studio feel like the spot I want to be in again.
Recently I started a new series called Veiled Thoughts. I rather like the thought of feelings that are hidden from view yet they do affect who we are and create a personal texture to our lives.

24"x30" canvas 2"deep. Acrylic paint and collage.
22"x28" canvas 1"deep. Acrylic paint and collage..
12"x!6" on canvas board.  Acrylic paint and collage..
Each painting had a story of sorts and thoughts that I pondered.  Thoughts not ready to be shared with everyone I meet.

Last summer I took a class at Roses on my Table and these are some of the paintings from that session Each painting has a transfer from a famous painting and my story added to it.

Loving my Young Living Ningxia Red Bottles

Young Living essential oils are a part of my creative life.  When I am in my studio I diffuse a variety of different scents.  The knowledge that I am using the highest quality oil and have a guide to what oils to use to enhance my creative (mind health oils) power and energy to make a piece of art excites me.
Having high energy is part of the my creative process.  Every day I drink my Ningxia Red drink for it's anti-oxidant and energy boasting qualities.  After the bottle is empty it goes into my stash of supplies.
My group of Hometown Oilers had there annual meeting last Saturday.  I was proud to have contributed to the day by making decorative bottles for the centerpieces on each table and to make sales from the artful bottles.  Each bottle had a tiny bottle attached to it that could be used uncapped as a small diffuser which in this case contained a drop of a blend of oils called Joy on a piece of watercolor paper tucked in it.

This summer I will hold a class on making an unique piece of art from a recycled bottle.  If you are interested please contact me or sign up for more information. You may email me at vonnielld@charter.net

Today I completed a little rose spirit doll painting using pressed flowers. Along with the painting I experimented with adding pressed flowers to a bottle I had first covered with gesso. I have so many bottles and enjoy doing bottle art and will try to come up with several different looks.  It is part of the recycle, use what I have challenge I gave myself this year.

Rose is 9 x 11 framed

I am having thoughts of flowers and gardens...this has been such a long winter, the flower thoughts have become my muse while I create.  The painting is called January's Garden. A little old January day planner is in the left corner.  The painting is a bit busy but I hope the eye relaxes with the over painting of white (snow) feel.

I've debated all afternoon, am I done with this painting or not.  I posted it on facebook needing to put it out into the world.  As I painted I kept thinking of the leaves that fell from the trees one warm windy day....as if the wind had face or place it came from. All those little clay faces scattered like leaves in solitary flight.

The bittercold days of January, 2014 has me working in my studio melting hot solder on metal.  Next will  be:.... to make them dangle.
